If you’re familiar with this blog, you know that I often write review of various side hustle and/or gig work platforms and apps. Introducing people to new ways of making money is important. While some might be making money on the Clipboard Health app, I refuse to write a how-to review for this platform as they are currently facing investigations for violating labor laws.
Clipboard: An Uber for Nursing
According to the Journal of Nursing, “the app lets nurses and nurse aides book individual shifts for a set number of hours with health care facilities, get paid, and move on to the next gig. Essentially, it’s Uber for nursing.”
In the same article, the Journal states that “a California nurse aide who claimed she was owed $21,000 in unpaid work from Clipboard, eventually lost her home while she tried to get the funds. Clipboard did not respond to questions about this specific nurse.”
This is all in addition to concerns about training and patient outcomes.
Ethics
I’m just getting started when it comes to the world of healthcare gig apps, and I don’t like what I see so far. I’d love to post how-to reviews and tips, but I don’t want to promote platforms that screw people over.
To that point, if you notice any review or post on this blog that covers a platform that has engaged in unlawful or unethical practices, please say so in the comment section. The goal of this blog is to help people make money, not put them in bad positions.
